Klipz is a digital loyalty card. When you sign up at a café that uses Klipz, your stamp card lives in your Apple Wallet — and, if you choose, the café can send you the occasional offer by email. This page explains what data we handle, why, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Klipz is the technology behind your stamp card, operated from Copenhagen, Denmark. The café where you signed up decides which loyalty rewards and offers to run; Klipz delivers your stamp card and sends emails on the café's behalf. For any question about your data, or to exercise the rights below, contact us at gustavaller@gmail.com.
2. The data we handle
By default your stamp card is anonymous — it is identified only by a random code on your wallet pass, with no name or email attached. We record the stamps you collect, the rewards you redeem, and whether the pass is installed.
If you fill in the sign-up form on the back of your pass, we also store what you provide: your name, email address, birthday, your preferred language, and the fact and time you agreed to receive emails.
We also collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics (for example, how many people opened a sign-up page) using a single first-party cookie that does not identify you.
3. Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To run your loyalty card — track stamps, deliver rewards, keep your pass current. Basis: providing the loyalty programme you chose to join.
- To send you the café's offers by email. Basis: your consent, given when you ticked the box on the sign-up form. You can withdraw it at any time.
- To confirm the email address is yours, by sending a verification link. Basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the list accurate.
- To understand and improve the service through anonymous statistics. Basis: our legitimate interest.
4. Marketing emails
You only receive marketing email if you signed up and confirmed your address. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can opt out at any time — it takes effect immediately. The verification and welcome emails are not marketing; they are sent to complete your sign-up.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the service providers that make Klipz work, and only so they can perform their function:
- Supabase — database and storage, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt).
- Resend — sending the verification, welcome, and offer emails (EU region).
- Apple Wallet — your pass lives on your own device in Apple Wallet.
- Vercel — hosting the Klipz application.
- Sentry — error monitoring, so we can find and fix problems.
The café you signed up with can see your profile and loyalty activity in its own Klipz dashboard. Some providers are based outside the EU; where that is the case, they are bound by appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your loyalty data for as long as your stamp card is active with the café. You can ask us to delete it at any time. Anonymous statistics may be kept indefinitely, as they no longer identify you.
7. Your rights
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, and withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. To exercise any of these, email gustavaller@gmail.com.
If you believe we have mishandled your data, you can complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet), datatilsynet.dk.
8. Cookies
Klipz uses one first-party cookie to measure how its sign-up pages perform. It does not identify you, is not used for advertising, and is not shared with third parties.
9. Your wallet pass & rewards
Your stamp card and any sign-up reward are provided by the café, not by Klipz — the café defines the reward and honours it in store. Stamps and rewards have no cash value. Klipz provides the technology and may update or improve it over time. We aim to keep the service available but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.
10. Changes to this page
We may update this page as Klipz develops. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
